World Environment Day at SKS World School is more than just a date on the calendar. At the best school in Noida, we think of it as a global reminder of the importance of preserving our planet for future generations. At SKS World School, Noida Sector 137, we treat this day as an opportunity to educate and inspire young minds to become environmentally responsible citizens.
Celebrated on June 5th every year, World Environment Day brings people together to raise awareness about urgent environmental issues. This year’s theme is “Ending Plastic Pollution,” and guides students about the need of reducing plastic waste in every way.
To help students understand the relevance of this theme, our school organized a series of interactive and hands-on activities designed to make learning both fun and impactful.
Activities Conducted at SKS World School:
- Morning Assembly Talk: The day began with a special assembly where students learned about the dangers of plastic pollution and the importance of sustainable choices.
- Poster-Making Competition: Students from various classes expressed their understanding of the theme through creative posters, spreading messages like “Say No to Plastic” and “Reuse to Reduce.”
- Eco-Pledge Ceremony: All students took a pledge to reduce plastic usage in their daily lives—both at school and at home.
- Classroom Discussions: Teachers held age-appropriate discussions explaining why plastics harm the environment and how small changes, like carrying cloth bags or using metal bottles, can make a difference.
- Nature Walks & Clean-Up Drive: As the best school in Noida, we also organized supervised walks around the campus where students picked up litter and observed how clean surroundings benefit nature.
